Minecraft Architecture - Asuka Japanese
Due to Japan's natural resources, Japanese architecture makes notable use of woodwork and minimalism. To look at recreating this style in Minecraft creative, I took inspiration from Japan's Asuka period (5th to 8th century).
From previous studies, I knew that Japanese dwellings were characterised by large roofs (often occupying more than half of the total height), elevated latices, a lack of load-bearing walls supplemented by an internal wooden framework, and wooden brackets called tokyo.
Adding an iconic Japanese maple completed the surrounding environment.
This building took reference from the Hokke-do at Nara.
